its 4:30 in the morning and I'm watching Shania twain and Beyonce videos and wondering how Britney spears exists as a legitimate force in pop music. because she sucks. and is talantless.
all she does is lumber around on stage in some-sort of mobile coma, shimmying occasionally, while attempting to lip-sync the lyrics to songs she didn't write and sometimes forgets the words to.
She doesn't sing live, or dance. and her image is entirely fabricated by her production team.
She has sex appeal, they say... everyone has sex appeal. julia childs (even now) has sex appeal.

britney...rehibilitated, at the tip top of her game.

buffalo stance

Parasitism is a type of symbiotic relationship between two different organisms. The parasite benefits from a prolonged, close association with the host, which is harmed. In general, parasites are much smaller than their hosts and show a high degree of specialization for their mode of life.

i can't stop thinking about you anymore.
it is so incredibly unsatisfying.
and unyieldingly.
and theres a pressure in my middle, because i can't stop thinking about yours.

Viva Obama!

"My friends, the MAC is back."
-John McCain, on his determination to push through in these last few days of his campaign...

Delusional as usual! I would like to blame it on the alzheimers, but that would dash a small amount of undeserved credit to his character...

ugh, I have that vom taste in my mouth right now.

This just goes to show how important it is to keep on showing massive support for Obama in these last few days. And not to assume victory yet!

and as for john mccain, that man is fucking pathological!

hodge podge prose and practical panic

I am up and Wide awake.
I assisted myself in staying up to study for my two midterms tomorrow and now I am riding the lonely horse of the sleepless traveler. see!
Portishead and Perrier are keeping me in good company.
Beside the assistance, I think a mix of nerves and excitement is keeping me awake. Excitement because of the fantastic/halloweeny/festy upcoming weekend, and nervous because I have a plaguing, pathological Fear that Barack Obama isn't going to be our next president. That is normal, it is crunch time! It is probably unlikely, but still possible - and horrifying.

And over confidence is never wise.
Example: On Sunday, This American Life was about the upcoming presidential election and people who campaign for either candidate in the tricky, swing state, Pennsylvania. It was a serious fucking episode. very serious.
I would like to discuss...
But, as it was particularly loaded, I would hate to ruin carefully prescibed, subtle political commentary on ordinary people doing extraordinary things...
Just this: I know I think about race politics more than necessary, and still this episode scarred the craaa out of me.

YOU MUST DO IT!

next:
I am very excited about my fun, full day tomorrow and the day of sleep that will follow.

Shout out to Momo who is, sadly, also awake right now . i love you, you little trooper. <3.

Until next time...

patriatism burns brightly

I voted! this morning, bright and early at 9 AM.

It was my first time ever voting in a presidential election! I've glamorized voting ever since I was little. I remember the lights and the seriousness and secrecy of it all, oh my god, i just wanted to go inside one of those little booths so bad, just for a second.
So now here I am, and it was just as fantastic as I imagined!

I was actually inspired to early vote this morning because I want to be able to tell Michelle Obama later that I am a sure bet. Also, wearing my sticker to the rally, if I leave in the next 10 minutes, might get me close enough to Michelle to be able to smell her Chanel N°5.
so much glamor, i can't stand it

onward and upward

i am going to miami today!

tomorrow at this time, i will in my mothers clean and comfortable house, drinking the strongest coffee.

i was hoping to at least match the high level of productiveness i was at last week at some point this week, but that never happened. now i am leaving my messy house and my laborious to- do list for miami and i really couldn't care less...

as long as i don't forget to pack anything i'll be fine-ish.

ALSO: look up Marnie Stern's new album! this is practically of utmost importance!
